MINUTES FROM THE DECEMBER 06, 2004

SELECT BOARD MEETING

 

Board members present were John Devine, Jerry Mullen and Pat Mallow. Board members absent were Ron Lafreniere and Dave Johnson. The meeting was called to order at 6pm.

 

*Fire Chief Mike Gervia met with the Board to review some department needs and purchases. He plans on buying automatic chains for some of the vehicles at a cost of approximately $2200 per vehicle. The department’s computer failed but they will purchase a new one with their donation funds. Gervia also spoke to the board about purchasing a new vehicle. Prices for trucks are increasing at a rate of 8% per year. A new truck will replace the old pumper and the maxim, however the cost is somewhere around $225,000. Deb will speak to BankNorth about their leasing program.

 

*Planning Commission chair Linda Baker met with the Board to bring them up to date on a sketch plan review for Redstone Corporation for a 19-lot sub-division.

 

*Zoning Administrator Dick Ward met with the Board to discuss their upcoming zoning hearing for Ken Richardson.

 

*Ken Richardson came before the Board to discuss his request for a change of use. Richardson presented his plan that will include turning a 2-bedroom dwelling into a high-end 2-suite guesthouse and the carriage house into a luxury spa. There will be no cooking or alcohol on either premise. Parking will not be a problem. He intends to connect this property to his existing property by a path through the wooded area in the spring. Jerry motioned: "To approve the request from Ken Richardson for a change of use from residential to commercial for the property located at 3970 and 4010 Bolton Valley Access Road." John seconded. There was no other discussion, all were in favor, motion passed.

 

There was nothing else to come before this Board at this time. Jerry motioned to end the meeting, seconded by Pat. The meeting closed at 7pm.
