MINUTES FROM THE NOVEMBER 17, 2003 SELECTMEN’S MEETING

 

Board members present were Dave Johnson, Jerry Mullen, John Devine, Pete Siegel, Road Foreman Eric Andrews, Fire Chief Mike Gervia and Town Clerk Deborah LaRiviére. The meeting was called to order at 6pm.

 

Fire Chief Mike Gervia went over his department’s budget with the Board.  There are no changes from the previous years’ budget figure of $75,100. The Board will wait until all budgets are presented before approving any.

Dave motioned: “To accept the minutes from the November 03, 2003 meeting.” John seconded. There were no changes, additions or corrections. All were in favor, motion passed.

The Board reviewed the highway department budget with Foreman Eric Andrews. (See budget copy) Again, the Board will wait until all budgets are presented to make approvals.

The Board read an application from Kristian Omland for appointment to the Conservation Commission. Jerry motioned: “To appoint Kristian Omland to the Conservation Commission.” John seconded. There was no discussion, all were in favor, motion passed.

Amy Plimpton has asked that the speed limit be reduced on the Bolton Valley Road from 45 to 25. A letter should be sent to Plimpton indicating that the speed limit cannot be reduced that much without a traffic study.

The Board reviewed the preliminary survey for Mill Brook Road and was in agreement with T. Bass’ findings. Dave motioned: “To accept the road survey for the lay-out of Mill Brook Road as show on survey401-56tb, dated October 2003 and signed by surveyor Tami Bass.” Jerry seconded. There was no further discussion, all were in favor, motion passed.

There was no other business to be brought before this Board at this.  Jerry motioned to end the meeting, seconded by John. The meeting ended at 8:30 pm.
