MINUTES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 08, 2003 SELECT BOARD MEETING

Board members present Dave Johnson, Pete Siegel, Jerry Mullen, Ron Lafreniere and John Devine. Also present was Town Clerk Deborah LaRiviére and Road Foreman Eric Andrews. The meeting reconvened at 5:40pm. Prior to the Board gathering at the Town Office, members conducted a site visit to the Goodrich property on Wentworth Road to inspect a culvert problem.

Road Foreman Andrews explained the Goodrich driveway issue and Ron motioned: “To put a used culvert in place the next time the town road crew is in the area, but Mr. Goodrich should clean the ditch prior to the culvert replacement.” Pete seconded. There was no other discussion, all were in favor, motion passed. Andrews also explained the recent vehicle problem to the Board. The Board reviewed two bids for the repairs, Clarks and Atwood’s. Jerry motioned: “To authorize Eric to take whichever bid, or such parts of a bid, that he was most comfortable with.” John seconded. The Board advised Eric to use the anticipated time to complete as a deciding factor. There was no other discussion, all were in favor, motion passed.

While the road crew was brush cutting on Stage Road a branch scratched Robin Streeter’s car. The Board advised Eric to have Streeter’s vehicle repaired by Mark Atwood should it come to that.

The Board signed a Quit Claim Deed and Property Transfer to accept ownership of the Preston Pond Property. The Board also signed the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program grant application.

The Board would like to begin working on budgets at the next meeting.

Dave motioned: “To accept the minutes from the August 8 and 18 meetings.”  Jerry seconded. There were no corrections, changes or additions. All were in favor, motion passed.

Warrants were signed.

Jerry, Pete, Dave and Ronnie will be attending the Town Fair.

Deb should check with the VLCT regarding the requirements for obtaining a CDL license for Dave Root.

There was no other business to be brought before this board at this time. Jerry motioned to end the meeting, seconded by Dave. The meeting closed at 6:40pm.
