MINUTES FROM MAY 19, 2003 SELECTBOARD MEETING

Board members present were Dave Johnson, Jerry Mullen and Ron Lafreniere. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 pm with Dave Johnson acting as chair.

Tony Barbagallo from the Chittenden Solid Waste District met with the Board to review the District’s budget. Barbagallo went over the highlights The Board would like Deb to contact Amy Jewell at the District office regarding grant money for clean-up. Ron motioned: “To accept the CSWD as proposed.” Jerry seconded. There was no other discussion, all were in favor, motion passed.

Ray Atwood came in and spoke with the Board expressing his concerns about the town possible hiring a sheriff. Initially he thought this a good idea, but does have some concerns. He also expressed concerns about state and federal school unfunded mandates.

Warrants were signed. The Board pointed out that the phone bills went in arrears and a phone line was shut-off. There was a question regarding the payment of postage costs for the Conservation Commission. This issue was tabled until a full board is present.

Jerry motioned: “To approve two Special Events permits for Bolton Valley.” Ron seconded. There was no other discussion, all were in favor, motion passed.

The Board had a 6:30 appointment with Erika Bundy of Country Club Condos regarding the paving of Nashville Road. At 715 Ms. Bundy had not shown up, and Ron motioned to close the meeting, seconded by Jerry. All were in favor, the meeting ended at 7:15 pm.
