MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 14, 2003 SELECT BOARD PUBLIC HEARING

Board members present were Pete Siegel, John Devine, and Ron Lafreniere. The hearing was called to order at 7pm. The hearing was to address the creation of the Bolton Valley Fire District #1.

Bob Fries, President of Bolton Valley indicated that the boundaries of the Fire District were flexible and the attorney for the District agreed. The process to change the boundaries, however, would require an approval by the Select Board.

The present allocation for sewer is 100,000 and for septic, 90,000. The system is presently running at 67% of capacity. Fries suggested the new allocation would be reduced to reflect the reality of the present situation. It was indicated that there is no known opposition to the creation of the fire district. The State has asked that the system be upgraded, which will require approximately $140,000. This amount can be borrowed at a special low interest rate. Shirley Zundell asked if the Town could supply her with a list of all property owners involved and that they be broken down by resident and non-resident.

There was no other business to be brought before this Board at this time concerning this matter. A motion to close the hearing was seconded and the hearing ended at 7:20 pm.
