MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 17, 2003 SELECT BOARD MEETING

Board members present were Jerry Mullen, Pete Siegel, Dave Johnson, John Devine and Ron Lafreneire. Also present was Town Clerk Deborah LaRiviére. The meeting was called to order at 6pm.

Correspondence from SOV/Vtrans will be given to Road Foreman Eric Andrews.

Janet Bonneau, Richard Free Library Trustee met with the Board to discuss the library contribution vote that was defeated earlier this month. In light of the defeat, the Trustees and Librarian Rebecca Mueller drafted a letter (file: Select Board Correspondence) outlining new guidelines for Bolton residents. The letter will be re-printed in the next Gazette. In brief, the Librarian and Trustees will begin charging Bolton residents $35 per household, after July 01, 2003, for use of the library. The letter indicated that after this date, all present Bolton library cards will become expired. Books found to be over due 60 months after this date will be considered missing and the replacement cost will be billed to the Town of Bolton.

Conservation Commission member Jen Andrews met with the Board to discuss her group’s plans and latest projects. Members of the Commission would like to be put on the agenda, as a permanent appointment, for the first Select Board meeting of each month. The Board discussed the Sara Holbrook property with Andrews and Jerry volunteered to speak with the AOT representative at the next Metropolitan Planning Meeting about getting some type of access from the railroad to cross the tracks that border this property.

John motioned: “To approve the contract with Mudgett Jennett, Krogh-Wisner for auditing services not to exceed $6,000”.  Dave seconded. There was no other discussion, all were in favor, motion passed. The Board would like the auditors to publish the dollar amount of the promissory note between the school district and the town in the financials for the town in the next audit.

There was no other business to be brought before this board at this time. Jerry motioned to end the meeting, seconded by Pete. The meeting ended at 7:40pm.
