MINUTES FROM THE  JANUARY 28, 2002 SELECTBOARD MEETING

 

Members present: Jerry Mullen, John Devin, Pete Siegel and Dave Johnson

Members absent:   Ron Lafreniere

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:05.

 

The Board reviewed the warning for this year’s town meeting. A petition was presented by Debbie Gawor to include a resolution asking that the state and federal and the United Nations abide by the Earth Charter when making decisions. The Board opted to include this on the warning. Several legislators have requested that the Town include a resolution to urge the State to prohibit anyone from teaching or promoting a homosexual agenda in the school systems. Jerry motioned: “To not include the item on prohibition of homosexual agendas in the school system in the warning.”  John seconded. There was no other discussion, all were in favor, motion to not include this particular item was passed. The Board signed the warning.

There was no other business to be brought before this board at this time.

Pete motioned to end the meeting, seconded by Dave. The meeting ended at 6:30 pm.
