MINUTES OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS MEETING

Smilie Memorial School, Bolton, VT

March 7, 2002

 

 

Meeting came to order at 7:05 pm.

 

ATTENDEES:

Vicky Congdon, Gail Conley, Phil Graff, Fred Kenney, Lisa Wells, and Ann Whitman

Guests: Thomas Fleury

 

GENERAL ITEMS:

1. There were no comments from community members:

 

ACTION/DISCUSSION ITEMS:

2. Dr. Conley administered the oath of office to elected school directors Vicky Congdon, Phil Graff, Fred Kenney, and Ann Whitman.

 

3. Fred nominated Lisa to serve as Chair of the Board; Ann seconded. All in favor.

     Lisa nominated Ann to serve as Vice-Chair; Fred seconded. All in favor.

      Ann nominated Vicky to serve as Clerk; Fred seconded. All in favor.

     

4. Committee assignments:

Lisa and Ann will serve on Executive; Fred will serve on Policy; Ann will serve on Curriculum; Phil will serve on Long-Range Planning; Vicky will serve on Special Ed. Board members will share the Transportation committee.

 

5. Lisa moved to accept the minutes of 2/6/02 and 3/2/02 as written; Ann seconded. All in favor.

 

6. At 7:15 pm, Lisa moved that the Board enter into executive session, under the authority of Title 1 VSA, Chapter 5, Section 313 (3) to interview a finalist for the principal’s position. Vicky seconded. All approved. At 8:45, Lisa moved that the executive session end; Ann seconded. All approved. 

 

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.

 

 The next meeting has been scheduled for 7PM, March 12, 2002, at the Smilie School.
