Meeting came to order at 4:15 pm.

ATTENDEES:

Vicky Congdon, Phil Graff, Fred Kenney, Lisa Wells, and Ann Whitman

GENERAL ITEMS:

1. Comments from community members:

Linda Thomas has approached the Board to officially request that Bolton tuition her child to Jericho Elementary School for the ‘02-’03 school year. It is no longer the Board’s practice to pay tuition for Bolton children to attend JES, and Linda has been aware from the beginning of the transition plan that the tuitioning of Bolton children would end with the ’01-’02 school year. Lisa suggested that she approach the JES School Board to request a tuition waiver. Lisa also recommended that Linda visit Smilie to meet with the educators who would be involved with her child and discuss a possible transition to Smilie.

2. Lisa administered the oath of office to new board member Phil Graff .

3. Lisa updated the board on the reapportionment of Bolton.

ACTION/DISCUSSION ITEMS:

4. The Board reviewed the ’02-’03 proposed school budget, the school board and principal’s report, and the reports of the School Directors in preparation for Town Meeting.

5. At 6:10 pm, Lisa moved that the Board enter into executive session, under the authority of Title 1 VSA, Chapter 5, Section 313 (3) to discuss the finalists for the principal’s position. Vicky seconded. All approved. At 7:20, Lisa moved that the executive session end; Vicky seconded. All approved.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.

The next meeting has been scheduled for 7PM, March 7, 2002, at the Smilie School.
